Research & feedback from Whose Shoes? workshops

We are doing joint research with Ali Garner, Senior Lecturer, Manchester Metropolitan University. Ali has been working with the Department of Health since 2008 resesarching effective resources and approaches to help people with learning and to make progress towards personalisation.

We are researching the effectiveness of the Whose Shoes? game. We are interested to know how people respond to this highly interactive and more relaxed approach to learning and development. Specifically we want to know how it helps them understand other people's perspectives and contributes to their learning. What will they do differently as a result of playing the game? We are reporting on our findings to date at the JSWEC conference in Hatfield on 1 July 2010.

We want everyone to work together - to break down those organisational and hierarchical barriers - to deliver choice and control for everyone who needs support with social care or heath in order to lead fulfilled lives.

A DVD will be available shortly (July 2010) showing the game in action and mini interviews with participants sharing their thoughts....

Meanwhile we are adding the feedback from three recent workshops... firstly the student perspective....
